Suicidal Foot 4.0 - Hell Break
This blog contains five years worth of rants and babbles. It is not for the faint hearted, nor the nosy, nor for the narrow minded. It does not discriminate sex nor religious preferences. It loves you because nobody ever will. All hail Suicidal Foot! All hail the drama queen who writes, and her little servant boy!

REVIEW: Gigahertz SM North Edsa.

I have been longing for the Asus Google Nexus 7 2nd Gen for a month now. The fact that it's being pulled out from stores to make way for the HTC Nexus 9 makes it more valuable. I have been looking for the 32GB Nexus 7 around SM North Edsa for two weeks, and I've only seen two stores. It was really frustrating when the day came that I would buy one, and the stores weren't selling them anymore. Still, I chanced upon Gigahertz and miraculously, they have one last stock.

It wasn't a new unit, it was already opened. I was going to point it out but I was too excited to have my hands on it. It was a little disappointing tho that it was starting up really slow and the kuya had to force shut down and restart just to make it work. I was already having second thoughts on buying an opened unit. I tried to check the unit, but the store didn't have internet connection. It wasn't lagging, since there were only the preloaded apps, and no internet to update the operating system. Since it was already late, we just bought it. I told myself to just check it our when I got home.

I updated the OS from 12MN-3AM. I was able to update it to Kitkat 4.4.4 when I started downloading apps like Twitter, Tumblr, KakaoTalk, and so on. It was when I open an app that it suddenly just crashed.  I started restarting it, but it was on loop on the Google logo. I did several factory resets but nothing happened. I came to the conclusion that it was a defective unit. I decided to consult online sources, but it being an "old" nexus, it's microsite has been taken down by Google.

So, anyway, I went back to Gigahertz after my 4PM class. I told them I was returning the unit and that I wanted my money back. They asked why, and I explained that the unit was defective. They asked someone to try to fix it first, told me that I can get a new unit in a few hours, if only I could just sit down. So, I did. I patiently waited, but I didn't have a Nexus 7 at the end of the day. Other branches don't have the model I bought. I told them, well then, give me back my money. They said they can't because it still need to be approved. Approved by what? In what case can it be disapproved? Surely, I should get my money back since, well obviously, I wasn't able to get my money's worth. They told me that the policy is first, try to change the unit, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE IT, so, maybe you can buy something else of the same price, BUT I DON'T WANT TO. I am buying an Asus Google Nexus 7, 32GB because it is now being pulled out from the market. I payed for it, and that's what I want. Why are they telling me what to get for my money? So, they told me to calm the shit down and promised that they will call their supplier and promised that I will get my unit within the week.

What has Gigahertz SM North Edsa violated?
1. It is printed on the receipt that there is an outright 7 day return/exchange for defective units. Which can not be according to RA 7394 Consumer Act of the Philippines.
2. It is the choice of the buyer if he/she wants a refund or an exchange. The store can not insist that they exchange the unit. RA 7394.

I am just really disappointed that most stores insist they make money. And I am quite disappointed that because of this, most Filipinos would think they don't have the right to return or exchange defective goods.

Nevertheless, I just want my Nexus 7 on Thursday as they promised. And whether or not I get it, I will make sure to file a complaint in DTI.

Why DoTA Should Be Considered a Sport in the Philippines.

(I ended up posting it anyway)

1. Other Countries Consider DoTA 2 as an E-Sport
Here is the list of DoTA 2 Teams, just so you can see the different flags in there.

2. To support DoTA players in the PH.
The Philippines have a professional team, Mineski. There are others, who we do not know of,  because we don't support them. Just like that.

3. To show that Pinoy DoTA Players do not suck.
There's this convention that if you're Pinoy, you prolly suck at DoTA. Guys, sometime's it's just the lag. There are a few noobs like me, but, srsly, it's still teamwork and good internet connection.

4. DoTA makes you think, requires quick response.
It's not true that DoTA is a no-brainer. You have to be smart, you have to have a strategy, you have to respond quickly. You have to know your teammates, and know how to work with them. It's really fun chess kind of game.

5. To pressure internet providers to speed up development.
If DoTA 2 is considered an e-sport, that would make our country a possible host to possible events. DoTA 2 is an online game, even the LAN needs internet connection. What we consider "fast" right now here in the Philippines, is crap outside the country. If we want to complete globally, we can start with our internet connection, thank you very much.

6. To raise awareness what DoTA is.
DoTA 2 is not a pangtamad* game. It's just like chess, you have to outwit your opponent. It's just like basketball, you have to have teamwork. You have to have patience, to wait for the perfect time to defend or to push lanes.

The International is already in its fourth year. I wish to someday see a Philippine team up in the roster in less that five years.

*for the lazy

UPDATE.

Just a personal update on me. Because I love talking about myself, a flaw I share with every human being born to a modern world.

I have finally shifted into a course and college! I am now taking up Bachelor of Public Administration in the National College of Public Administration and Governance. I honestly applied blindly, not knowing what it is about. But, I'm glad I got in and that I signed with them. B. PA is a pre-law, so, I might actually end up taking law after all. Unfortunately, I am accustomed to reading fiction and writing nonsense; the total opposite of what we do in B PA. My classes are all theoretical this sem, all readings heavy, I might explode in any minute. But, so far, so good, I'm actively participating and enjoying my classes.

I would love to rant about why I did not get into Geology, or Clothing Technology. But the downward spiral of the quality of education in UP might be enough explanation for some colleges desperate moves of "keeping the delinquents out". And I'll leave it at that.

There's really nothing else I can say about myself. I've been planning to talk about DotA but someone else beat me to it, so I just gave up. Haha.

Some sensible posts soon!

Wattpad Stories Published.

At first, I thought, WTF, but, I realized that I was actually just jealous.

Wattpad stories (novels/short stories) are being published left and right at the moment, and are becoming today's teens' literary works. She's Dating the Gangster and Diary ng Panget (Yes, pangEt. My Lingguistics prof would flip.) even have movies now. I am all for writers' dreams of getting published come true.

I only have two concerns in this happening. My first concern is that, hopefully, publishing houses are editing  these stories thoroughly, making sure that whichever language the authors are using, the rules of grammar are still followed.

Since I was 13 years old, I've been reading either children's books, thrillers, or law novels (do they call John Grisham a law novel author? I'm not sure what genre that is. Haha.). My share of fantasizing about a prince sweeping me off of my feet would come from the cheesy teleseryes on TV that my family would watch during dinner and homework time. I think if I watched cheesy teleseryes, read cheesy novels, watched cheesy anime, and read cheesy manga, I would be a total hopeless romantic, selling myself cheap to guys who don't really care about me. And that is my second concern, the theme of these stories being about finding love when you're young. Maybe you can, I'm not saying it's impossible. I just hope that it is not being sold to young girls, with the problem of teenage pregnancy already growing.

I'd still have to say thumbs up to the authors, keep writing, keep learning, keep experimenting. And to readers, be smart. You read because you are smart, so be wise, too. Learn to separate fiction from reality, and use your books as inspirations rather than guidelines to living life. Unless you're reading powerful books.

Maleficent Movie Review (SPOILER ALERT).

First of all, I would like to say that I totally loved the Disney animated movie of Sleeping Beauty. I've seen it numerous times, and I believe I have enough idea of what each character's personality is. Growing up, I have also read some adaptations. In my opinion, I have enough background of how evil Maleficent is.

She has always been portrayed as the baddest bitch in the fairy land. She crashes parties. She curses babies. She grows thorny shit everywhere 'cause you shall not pass. She breaks the land so you'll fall to your death trying to pass. I told you, you shall not pass. She becomes a dragon for fucks sake. She's the most evil villain in my childhood, even eviler than Voldemort (who's secretly gay, I swear).

But, the movie, surprisingly by Disney, portrayed Maleficent as confused and bitter. I didn't like how the story went, I was so confused and disappointed. It may have been because I've seen the old animated film, but me and my brother were WTF-ing the whole time.

WTF moments:
1. When Maleficent cursed the baby Aurora into an unending sleep.
WHAAAT?! Why would she go so soft on her betraying lover's precious innocent daughter?! She should not have held back, and just said YOU WILL DIE YOU FUCK.
2. When Maleficent added that Aurora will wake up to true love's kiss, and then looked at Stephen like "you know, 'cause there's no such thing as true love"
Why should they portray Maleficent as a bitter ex lover? She should just have been angry and destructive. I mean, I acknowledge that in the background story, he betrayed her, mutilated her. But, can't she just be mean to him without saying 'cause you broke my heart.
3. The three fairies
Because they were portrayed as careless and simply silly. Aurora went running to godknowswhere, and they never suspect a thing.
4. Maleficent takes care of Aurora. She tries to take the curse back. She wakes Aurora up with her kiss.
The queen of evil should have a heart of stone. End of story.
5. Maleficent does not transform into a dragon.
Just. No.

Good point of the movie:
1. Great acting
2. Great effects
3. Nice background story.
4. I finally know what that crow is.

Overall, I still like the classic story of an evil fairy trying to kill a baby. That is all. OKbye.

Right Now.

So, I just got my laptop back! I will try to be active online again!

ATM Twitter, Ask.fm, and Tumblr are open in other tabs. I'm trying to catch up. Not that two or three people are looking at SuicidalFoot everyday, though.
Anyway, my laptop also lacks a lot of programs. That screen cap was saved in paint. Oh God. What has life come to. I don't have WinRar, Photoshop, and I'm not sure what else. It'll take some time 'til my laptop is back forreals.

Anyway, I got rejected in Clothing Tech. Like last year, I got rejected in Geol. So, I'm thinking of quitting school and just go hobo.

I've been reading and watching a lot. Don't want to get into any details as of now...

But, srsly, I don't know what else to do with my life. I try my best to go straight and the universe fucks it.

I'll post better soon. Okbye.
