Suicidal Foot 4.0 - Hell Break
This blog contains five years worth of rants and babbles. It is not for the faint hearted, nor the nosy, nor for the narrow minded. It does not discriminate sex nor religious preferences. It loves you because nobody ever will. All hail Suicidal Foot! All hail the drama queen who writes, and her little servant boy!

Localized Doramas.

This thread made me do this.

IF YOU'RE A PUNK, IF YOU'RE CLOSE MINDED, IF YOU HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO, THEN, GO AWAY AND STOP READING NOW!

Six years ago (or so, I think), Meteor Garden, a Taiwanese drama, took over the Philippines. Not a single soul walked without knowing Shan Cai & Dao Ming Si... and definitely, not a single soul walked without knowing F4.

F4 (Flower Four) was a daily habit. Everybody knows Jerry, Vic, Ken, and Vanness.
Everybody loved them. But, they, not only took over the hearts of young and old females alike, but also, the charts in Philippine music industry. I remember Myx Daily Top 10 and Myx Top 20 being F4 songs from top to bottom. The only thing that stayed Pinoy was OPM Myx!

This nationwide madness, called Meteor Fever, has triggered the start of something new - Asianovelas! After Meteor Garden comes Korean Dramas: Lovers in Paris, Save the Last Dance for Me, Wonderful Life, Full House, Only You, Princess Hours, Coffee Prince, A Love to Kill... and a whole lot more(Endorser voice)! Other Taiwanese Dramas: Romantic Princess, Hana Kimi, Hot Shot, It Started With a Kiss, My MVP Valentine(I think); Japanese Dramas: Hana Yori Dango, Gakusen, Hana Kimi... Those are the only JDramas I'm sure of... and I hate it.

I am a BIG fan of Hana Kimi. I mean: I really, REALLY, really, adore the dorama. I love it sooo much that I cried when I got a glimpse of it in GMA. If you've watched the HK OG(Original) Version, you'll understand why. But, I'll explain why, anyway...

I got soo hooked to Hanazakari no Kimitachie last October 2007. I personally love the OST, the comedy, the story line, the production design, the editing, the cinematography... and, yes, I'm dead serious, not exaggerating.

In GMA7, HK Localized(tagalized, script edited to put in Pinoy-ness) version was aired. I was so "WHAT? NOO!!!" when I suddenly saw a CM(commercial) on TV. I was nervous... what'll they do to Nakatsu's voice? Surely, no one else can make "sou da! sou da!" sound interesting. What'll they do to it? "Tama! Tama!"? It can't be. x__x And then, one unfaithful afternoon, while surfing channels, I saw HK, the scene where Nakatsu was feeling awkward with himself, running around the cafeteria, wondering why he feels something towards Mizuki. You know that scene, right? It was beautiful & kilig... SUPPOSEDLY. But all changed. It was weird rather than cute. The voice was too harsh x low for the gentle figure of Nakatsu Shuichi; and sounds old(like, burdened) for the energetic aura Ikuta Toma has. I cried. x__x I was ridiculed. I was being mocked. NO, not just me, but HUNDREDS of other fanboys/fangirls who've downloaded and watched and loved the OG Hana Kimi... and even the crew who worked very very hard to made HK possible.

I am not against Jdramas/Kdramas/Tdramas being aired in the Philippines. I would like it if everyone in the street is doing services, Akihabara@DEEP style; or singing Konnani Chikaku de by Crystal Kay, Nodame Cantabile OST; or doing "Nobuta Power Up!!!"... I like the idea of a place where everyone understands you... A place for fanboys and fangirls! I hate the idea of murdering Jdramas with crappy voices & crappy timing.

I'm a Kapamilya for a reason. The dubbers in ABS-CBN are far more talented. But since someone in LJ says they are the same dubbers from GMA, then I better credit to ABS-CBN: for knowing how to match the voice with the characters. The timing in asianovels aired in ABS-CBN is good. So, yeah, GMA 7 knows how to choose dramas, but, what about the dubbers? You can't just ask anyone to read scripts for beautiful faces. What were are they thinking?

While I'm at it, fangirls, hear this:
Johnny Kitagawa, I believe, doesn't work like F4's or Fahrenheit's talent agencies. Surely, he knows what he's doing at being stingy.

Not because Johnny's talents are famous here in the Philippines doesn't mean he'll get their asses here to promote. JE talents doesn't have much competition here, right? (Sorry to say it, but, the truth hurts.) And Johnny's Entertainment is picky and stingy. He'll promote only at economically stable countries. All together now, Philippines isn't one!

One more thing, the Jdramas rumored to be aired soon are a year or so old. It'll be a waste to promote them.

Hmmn... 'yun lang for now! ^__^

Chip Tsao Apologizes.

...and he said it wasn't his intention to criticize any group. WTH, Tsao! What's with "doesn't deserve", and "nation of servants"? OH! Maybe your favorite songs? Your favorite books? WTH, Tsao.

Apology NOT accepted.
